California haul!

I was down in California for 11 days this past week and while I was there I picked up a few things. Now in Washington there is seriously nowhere to buy OCC products and I was lusting after some lip tars. Luckily for me there happened to be a salon 4 minutes away from my hotel in Beverly Hills that sold OCC products. I picked up two lip tars and 2 loose pigments. Unfortunately for me they were sold out of a lot of things so I was limited as to what I could buy so these are the things I purchased.

Loose Shadows
Platonic: A sparkly pale pink
Artifact: A reddish brown shimmer

Lip Tars
Femme: A light yellow based pink (matte)
Vintage: A deep blue based red (matte)

A note about lip tars: They are extremely pigmented! You only need a tiny drop to cover your lips. Use sparingly. As these are matte you should exfoliate your lips and apply a lip balm before applying the color or else your lips will look like saggy grandma tits (trust me).

I also picked up a waterproof mascara because I actually didn’t own one. After looking at some reviews I decided on L’Oreal’s Double Extend Waterproof mascara. It has two steps. One is the white end. This applies a white coat to the ends of your lashes to extend them. Two is the blue. This applies the waterproof mascara. It creates long lashes that stay. I went on water rides with this and was pleased with the result. 

I picked up Benefit’s Feelin’ Dandy Perk Me Up Lip & Cheek Kit

It comes with a sample size of Posie Tint, High Beam, Dandelion powder, and a Dandelion lip gloss.

Posietint: A bright pink lip and cheek tint

High Beam: A light pink highlighter

Dandelion powder: A sheer pink glittery powder

Dandelion lip gloss: A light peach glittery lip gloss

I have always wanted to try some of these things but never wanted to shell out $30 per products so this kit was perfect. It was $30.50 with tax! Such a serious deal. Another thing I wanted to bring up was that the lip gloss is not sticky at all. Sticky lip glosses are the bane of my existence. I have a tendency to rub my lips together and all of the product rubs off which is why I really like lip stains. The color of Posietint is so beautiful and you can wear it in so many ways.

I would give this a 9 out of 10. 

BH Cosmetics has an option where you can create your own palettes. I decided why the heck not. I created a 15 Color Palette Eyeshadow Pro. You have the choice of Warm Mattes, Warm Shimmers, Cool Mattes, Cool Shimmers, Metallic Mattes, and Metallic Shimmers. I made my palette totally matte with bright colors, pale colors, and neutral colors. These mattes are okay when it comes to pigmentation and the range of colors was HUGE. The palette has magnets inside the spaces and a large mirror.

I loved the fact that this palette was totally custom for a lower price ($34.95 when its not on sale) than a MAC Pro palette ($227). The color range is about 120 colors. Overall I am very impressed and I am considering making another one in the future!

BH Cosmetics gel eyeliner in Lush.

This is a super creamy and extremely pigmented.
Lush is a bright coral with a tiny hint of gold glitter. It is definitely a unique color. 

Everyone all over America knows that it is hot as shit outside lately. Washington is no different. So I wasn’t surprised when I opened my gel liner and the product was moved onto the side after I dropped it. Oops.

Glittery deep plum 

Brown
Matte dark brown

These two liners are very creamy and pigmented. The color range isn’t extraordinary, there is a black, brown, purple, and a gray. The formula seems to be similar to other gel liners.

These are very pigmented and are both great colors. I am planning on purchasing a few more of these!

These are two very pretty trios for people who are looking for subtle color and shimmer. These two aren’t the most pigmented trios but they can add a pretty wash of color.

This color is good for very pale warm skin tones as it won’t look too dark or too orange. I will say that you have to be very gentle with it! The cashier put it in the bag and when I looked in, it had broken! I showed it to her and got another one but be careful!

My one purchase from MAC’s Heavenly Creature collection! This is actually my first purchase from MAC and I am extremely happy. 

This is Light Year, it is a limited edition mineralize skinfinish. It is a peach color with rose and bronze shimmer veining. When swatched it is a golden peach color. It will look good if you are going for a tan look. It also looks glittery so if you aren’t a huge fan of glitter this isn’t the product for you, but if you love super shimmery highlighters then you will find this very enjoyable. This would work really well on medium or tan skin tones but if used with a light hand it will complement paler skin tones. 

I purchased mine at a counter for about $31 after tax. You could buy it on MAC’s online site but currently it is out of stock online so your best bet is a MAC counter near you. Plus, you don’t have to pay for shipping. 

I love this. Its very pigmented and it works well with most skin tones.
